Internships
Do you love Pulse music and want to learn more about working in media? Our summer CityStop internship is a great place to spend your time! You’ll be on-site at dozens of events throughout the summer, plus, you’ll learn more about social media, written and on-air communication, and more. This internship typically begins in late May and runs through the end of the Iowa State Fair on August 23rd.
To be considered for this position, you must:
love music
have solid communication skills and be able to talk to just about anyone
be over 18 and have a good driving record
This isn’t a “sit in the corner and watch” kind of internship. It’s a jump in, be part of it, learn by doing kind of summer.
From May through August, you will:
Build real communication skills by connecting with listeners at events
Learn what it’s like to be an on-air DJ (yes, really)
Help create social media and written content that people actually engage with
Get a behind-the-scenes look at how a listener-supported radio station runs
We’re looking for a college-aged individual—someone eager to grow in their career path—who’s outgoing, dependable, and ready to try new things.
A few important details:
This is a paid internship
Runs May–August
Requires a flexible schedule (some office time + nights/weekends for events)
