Pulse was there when I needed to be pointed to Christ. God threw me a curve ball in life and brought me to the Des Moines area last fall when I was struggling to stay afloat financially. The first few weeks here were some of the hardest, most difficult, and possibly some of the darkest moments of my life. I was struggling to find a community of people to connect with and found myself alone.
Then, one day on my 30-minute commute from Indianola to work at my job as an EMT, I remembered my father telling me about Pulse 101.7 and how it encouraged his life and his walk with God when he first moved to the area. So I cued up the radio dial to 101.7FM and, through the music, the Lord began to draw me back closer to him. The lyrics instantly impacted my heart. The words were lining up with the different struggles I was having in my life and were essentially laying out right before my eyes (or in my ears), the way I truly wanted to live my life and get back on track.
From that day forward the rest was history. I was officially hooked on Pulse. It led me to get plugged in with a local church and get involved with a bible study. God has been growing me spiritually ever since. After seeing how God used Pulse in my life, I realized it was something I wanted to be a part of. After volunteering for a few months as an intern, I was hired on to work on production part-time.
So Pulse matters to me… not just because it was a huge part of what God used to encourage me when I was lonely, but because I am now a part of what God is doing in our community through Pulse. Will you please consider donating to Pulse as we look to help people find what really matters?
