If you love to garage sale, you were probably at Copper Creek in Pleasant Hill last Saturday…and thanks to long time listeners, Ryan and Rachel Anderson, Pulse 101.7FM was there too! It was the annual neighborhood-wide garage sale for Copper Creek and I can safely say it was the biggest garage sale I have ever been to. Rachel informed me that residents affectionately refer to it as the “Mini State Fair”.
Sure enough there was everything from lemonade stands to food vendors. People were selling cinnamon and pecan rolls, cookies, cupcakes, and muffins. I even saw a family selling egg rolls and crab rangoons (homemade…YUM!).
The first half of the morning I parked in Ryan and Rachel Anderson’s driveway to play music for their shoppers. Rachel had some maternity clothes she was getting rid of and besides our own Charle Price scoping them out, I ran into a friend from high school who is expecting! Copper Creek is close enough to my hometown of Prairie City that I saw a few people I knew, from old neighbors to the guy who sat behind me in Spanish class.
Did I mention that everyone was at this garage sale?

Besides seeing familiar faces, I had the pleasure of meeting some of Pulse 101.7FM’s biggest fans as well. The second half of the afternoon I was cruising around playing Pulse tunes for the rest of the neighborhood when I heard shouting. “We love your station!” I heard. I looked over and there were three young ladies selling cupcakes for their volleyball camp. They were so excited to see the Pulse car and I was happy to meet them…and buy a strawberry cupcake. Mmmmm! Thanks girls!
Charle Price arrived on the scene just as I was leaving, and she did in fact pick out some really fabulous maternity wear. She is still in need of a dresser for her nursery though, so keep inviting us out to your neighborhood garage sales! To invite me (Katie), CJ, or Echo to one of your events (we don’t do just garage sales), email [email protected] We’d love to come out and play today’s positive hits from Pulse 101.7!
Was this 2017. Thought it was In. June. Did not see date on your page. Love to go to this sale when I can find it published early enough. I drive up from ottumwa. Have to ask ahead for weekend off.
Hey Shirley,
This was actually published back in 2012! But our Community Calendar shows a lot of great events you can check out to plan out your weekends! Check it out here: http://pulse1017.com/community-events
