It’s rare, but it happens. This morning I was in my office after a few days out of town, working to get my tasks organized for the week and listening to Pulse 101.7FM in the background. And then… silence! I looked up. Reached over to turn up the radio. Nothing. Just static.
The staff snapped to attention – we have specific things we do any time the station is off the air. And as we worked our way through our checklist, it became apparent this was not going to be a quick fix. A major piece of equipment had gone down at our broadcast tower, and we would have to wait for a replacement to be overnighted from California.
It’s very rare for Pulse 101.7FM to be off the air for a long stretch of time. As I went about my day, I cannot tell you how many times I reached over to turn up the radio, only to realize that it wasn’t there. Which got me thinking about how grateful I am!
Grateful for Pulse, which is there for me (and my kiddos) 24 hours a day. Grateful for the on-air personalities who do their best to encourage me and remind me that God loves me. Grateful for online streaming and our smartphone listening apps, which allow me to tune in even when I’m out of range of our on-air signal. Grateful for YOU, because your support makes what we do at Pulse 101.7FM possible.
Our Fall Pledge Drive takes place next week. If you, like me, have missed the presence of Pulse 101.7FM today, won’t you consider its impact in your daily life? YOU make Pulse 101.7FM possible. It’s YOUR gifts that allow us to offer hope to thousands each day through the music and message of Pulse.
You can pledge securely here. Thank you for joining the cause! And thanks for listening. While we anticipate getting back on the air ASAP, please consider listening online or downloading our new app for your smart phone – and let your friends know they can do the same!
