I just had a fun experience at a drive-thru. I was returning to the Pulse studio from a meeting with one of our advertisers and pulled through one of my go-to restaurants to grab lunch on my way back. As I approached the window, a fresh young face grinned out at me and exclaimed “Pulse 101.7 – I grew up listening to you guys!” She said she loved the music as a kid, and she loves it now.
These exchanges happen all the time, and it’s such a good reminder to me. Every time I meet a Pulse listener, I notice their age, where they work, anything that gives me a better picture of who we’re reaching.
Pulse listeners. We are moms, dads, students, stay-at-home parents, career people. We are single, we are married, we are having babies and pouring ourselves into the lives of our children. And each of us has hard things. Difficult family backgrounds. Loss of loved ones. Health issues. Financial struggles. Yet we persevere, and continue to seek God and discover joy in the journey. And we count on things like Pulse 101.7FM to encourage us through this thing called life.
Back to that gal at the drive-thru (who, by the way, gave me a free cookie “just because Pulse is awesome!”). She’s got her own story. And your donation ensures that she has cool music that speaks truth into her life – no matter what she’s facing that day. Thank you for that!
Pulse 101.7FM exists because of you, and others like you who see the value in speaking truth through culturally relevant music. Your station turns TWENTY years old this Spring – how cool is that? If you’ll consider us in your year-end giving, we’d appreciate that as we work to begin 2014 strong.
Together, we’re making a difference! Thanks for your support!
