Dear friend,
I remember the day we first began broadcasting Pulse. I was sixteen, a new driver with a clunker of a first car, and it was EARLY in the morning. My parents had just spent a year raising local support for this crazy idea to bring the first Christian
music formatted radio station to central Iowa. We gathered with friends and community leaders, prayed, and cheered together as we “flipped the switch” on what was then called “The Q.”
I remember discovering brand new artists who spoke truth through COOL music. Jars of Clay. Sixpence. PFR. Third Day. Switchfoot.
Many of the artists have changed over 25 years, but some things about Pulse remain the same. For example, our mission to reach a younger generation with a message of hope. It’s a pivotal time in life involving a lot of big events and choices. Graduation. First Love. First Car. First Home. In those years where, for many of us, a life course is set, Pulse has been there to encourage our faith and remind us of truth.
Here’s another thing that hasn’t changed – your support is still VITAL to the effort. What began as an effort to reach a young generation has become a ministry with quite a legacy. We’ve reached thousands of listeners over the years, and with your help, we’ll continue to do so.
As we celebrate our 25th birthday this spring, we realized that Pulse has never had a surprise party! We’ve decided to plan a year of fun surprises: a new studio for the first time in two decades, an updated CityStop outreach vehicle, and some fun events to celebrate with YOU in the summer and fall.
Won’t you surprise Pulse with a generous birthday gift this month? Your gift of $100, $500, $1000 or more will make such a difference as we reach out to our community. Simply give online at pulse1017.com, or use the enclosed envelope.
What a gift we’ve been given as God provides this resource for our community. THANK YOU for your help in keeping the mission going!
