At this time last year, the Pulse 101.7FM crew was preparing for our biggest and busiest year in our history. We had grown to a team of four full-time staff members and a couple part-time (plus an army of volunteers!). We were on track to hit a record number of events throughout central Iowa. Then
COVID hit… and we responded.
I’m so proud of my team. We worked hard to encourage tens of thousands of listeners on the air. At-home listening grew through our app and the use of smart speakers. And we learned how to do events a different way to continue connecting face to face.
Through it all, we’ve seen God use the station to encourage hearts:
- “I want to thank all of you at the station for everything you do, especially during this time. People need a message of hope and reassurance. I’m so glad you are here!”
- “Words cannot express how much your station has shaped my restoration of faith and leaning into God through all seasons of my life. Thanks for what you do to build strong and faith-filled individuals and support our community!”
- “My husband and I moved to DSM about a year ago and quickly found Pulse – now it’s the only station we listen to! Thanks for all you do and all the awesome music!”
- “I have taken the 30 Day Challenge, and what a difference it has made! I feel so positive going into my day regardless of how taxing I know it is going to be.”
As we look to the return of some some exciting events this summer (CityStops, the Des Moines Arts Festival, the Iowa State Fair, etc.), we are committed to sharing HOPE with more listeners than ever!
Pulse 101.7 is listener-supported, and Member Mission Days are going on now. Will you pray and join us with your best gift? Any amount helps, and when you give a one-time gift of $240 or more or a new ongoing monthly gift of $20, we’ll send you our new spring t-shirt!
We’re better together! Join us today with your gift here!
