Thursday, May 15th, CityStop: Kids Night at Calvary Chapel.
I had a blast being able to join a great group of kids Thursday night at Calvary Chapel for their Kids Night! Right when we showed up the kids were excited and as soon as the music started playing the kids were dancing, having fun and enjoying our frisbees, music guides, and stickers! It was awesome to recognize these kids were being filled with great, positive music that would encourage them and stick in their minds the rest of the night! I also met Raymond, an awesome Pulse listener who said he only listens to 101.7 and loves the station! It’s always encouraging to hear from our supporters!
Friday, May 16th, CityStops:
1) Westchester Pancake Breakfast.
It was an early morning but it was well worth it! Danielle and I had a great time hanging out with kids from Hoover High school who came over to enjoy a free pancake breakfast from the wonderful people of Westchester E-Free. Though it may have seemed odd to have people grinning and playing music as they ate, the kids soon warmed up and were definitely enjoying our music while we played Lecrae and many other great Pulse artists. I always love to see the Church reaching out to our community around us, especially the youth!
2) Ankeny Christian Academy Field Day.
As soon as we got to ACA’s Field Day, we realized how many awesome kids were there and excited to come check out Pulse 101.7! After a quick race, the kids flooded to our car and it was cool to see so many of them given music guides, a great way to find positive music for your children! I wish we could’ve stayed longer, but for the time we were there it was a lot of fun!
3) Iowa Christian Academy Field Day.
Stopping at events for ICA is always a blast. We love that the kids recognize us right away and love our station and the music we play. It was a great time catching up with some of our biggest fans! It’s amazing to see how faithful listening can start at such a young age in these kids.
Sunday, May 18th, CityStops:
We stopped out for Brielle Buck’s graduation party! Brielle’s family have been long time supporters and listeners of Pulse. She will be graduating from Waukee High School. It was great to stop out to your party and interact with your guests Brielle… Congratulations on your accomplishments!
2) Westview Church Youth Night.
After Brielle’s graduation party, we headed out to Westview Church in Waukee for their last Youth Night of the school year. We even saw some of Brielle’s friends there! The kids were awesome and love the station. It was fun to hang out with them and chat about music. Had a blast playing their game called “Nine-Square” It’s a lot like 4 square, but there are nine squares and instead of the ball bouncing on the floor in your square, you have to hit it over the bars surrounding your square. It was awesome! You guys are great and thanks for inviting us out!
