As we came into Ames on a gorgeous Thursday night, I knew this was going to be one special event. It was awesome to see so many people talking with each other and to see the look of excitement on their faces as they met new people, new friends, and started a new year of the Salt Company up at Iowa State University. I was also impressed to see the lack of timidness in the freshmen. As soon as the bands started playing, many of them were up front and ready to worship!
Anthem, a band made up of former members of the Salt Company, kicked the night off right with some great original songs and got the crowd ready for Phil Wickham.
I had experienced Wickham and his band once before when they came down two years ago to Simon Estes, sending the place into amazing worship and passionate singing. This time did not disappoint either. With such nice weather, a star-filled sky, and such a good crowd of people, it almost felt like heaven on earth (pun not intended.)
This was an amazing event! Thanks so much to ISU, The Salt Company, and everyone who helped pull this event together for inviting us to come out!
