My absolute favorite kitchen appliance has got to be the slow cooker (a.k.a. the Crock Pot). How wonderful it is to be able to throw in some ingredients before you leave the house in the morning and arrive home to the delicious aromas of a fully cooked meal! If you’re wanting some foolproof, tested recipe ideas, here are my family’s Top 10 Favorites:
1. Slow Cooker Pork Carnitas with Zesty Slaw
These are two separate recipes from two different sites but the combination of the two is unbelievable… so flavor-packed! This is, by far, my favorite (and my husband’s) slow cooker recipe ever!
2. BBQ Pulled Pork
This is the easiest slow cooker recipe, nay, the easiest recipe-period-that I have ever made. Throw it on a bun and serve with a side of your favorite veggie for the perfect weeknight meal!
3. Buffalo Chicken Wraps
Almost as easy as the BBQ pork, this is a fun way to have your wings! 😉 I did add a little more cool, ranch dressing to mine before wrapping it up as the wing sauce is kickin’!
4. Crock Pot Sante Fe Chicken
The ingredients in this one remind me of making my own burrito bowl at my favorite fast food burrito joint!
5. French Dips
Here is another easy one! 🙂 Sometimes I add a bottle or can of beer if I have it on hand to make more au jus.
6. Chicken Tortilla Crock Pot Soup
Soup is such a perfect dinner option in fall and winter! Hint: This recipe can be made even easier by using leftover chicken or buying a rotisserie chicken that is already cooked. 🙂
7. French Onion Soup
I love this stuff and only ordered it at restaurants until I learned how easy it is to make.
8. Beef Stroganoff
Yum… a creamy, hearty meal served over noodles. This is a childhood favorite for many but making it in the slow cooker makes it even easier… who could ask for more?!
9. Homemade Crockpot Applesauce
Okay, so this isn’t dinner but I love the idea of making homemade applesauce – and in my favorite kitchen appliance, no less. 🙂
10. Slow Cooker Pizza Joes
This recipe combines sloppy joes with pizza. Kids will love this one!
Enjoy trying these out – and let me know your favorites!
Thanks Charlie for posting your top 10 favorite recipes for the slow cooker. I enjoy trying new recipes and finding ones that my two picky boys will eat! I had two slow cookers in use over the weekend and was reminded that all cookers are not equal. The digital temperature controlled one that is more high tech than the basic low/high one is so superior. Thanks for all you do!
