Hey, there! I’m Chris Ortiz and have called West Des Moines home my entire life. I first got into radio while attending Graceland University. (Go Yellowjackets!) I was fortunate enough to be Program Director for KBUZ radio for two years and participated in numerous theatre productions.  I graduated with a BA in Communication and a Minor in Theatre the spring of 2018. 

I have the most supportive and loving family; my parents, my older brother, and his wife. I am also a proud uncle of two hilarious nephews, Benny and Rico. They are 5 and 3 years old. They definitely keep me running around! In my free time I love to read, geocache, play video games, and perform ventriloquism. I have listened to Pulse 101.7 ever since I can remember and I am so grateful to be part of the team! 

There are so many ways to get involved with Pulse 101.7 this summer! Help with crafts at our booth at the Des Moines Art Festival, join our candy dance party in an Independence Day Parade, or volunteer at the Iowa State Fair and get free entry!
